What is Conservation Framing?
The key principal behind conservation
framing is that the framer's role is
to encase and preserve artwork, while
leaving its original condition unchanged.
The main threats to artwork, that cause
it to deteriorate, are:
UV Light
Humidity
Insects
Air pollutants
The quality of materials touching and in close contact with the artwork
Specially developed materials and techniques are used in Conservation Framing to prolong the life of your valuable artwork.

What type of framing is appropriate for my artwork?
You may think you want the cheapest frame but remember that low-cost
framing can actually damage your picture. Some art should be protected
for future generations. We will be able to advise you on the appropriate
level of framing for your artwork, and will recommend how to make even a
modestly priced print look its best.
You have a choice about how much or how little you want to safeguard
your picture. There are Five Levels of Framing for you to choose
Museum - The ultimate protection for your artwork
Conservation - Helping preserve your artwork for future generations
Commended - Guarantees a degree of protection, with design playing an important part
Budget - Visually pleasing, but offering no long-term protection
Minimum - Putting economy first

the past, as well as prints, limited

Do you charge for travel?
We believe that the only sensible
way to choose a frame is in the environment in which it will
hang. Therefore we do not charge extra for visiting your home
or office. However, if the journey is greater than 15 miles from
our workshop we may make a small extra charge to cover the additional travel costs.
