Mary Neville was born in Ireland and graduated from the National College of
Art & Design, Dublin in 1988. After working as a graphic designer for five years
in Scotland, she travelled in Asia for a year in 1991. From 1995 to 2000 she lived
and painted in Taiwan, with a year out in 1997 to travel in Africa.
Her paintings are a celebration of colour, with her early work being more
representational and invoking scenes and memories of a personal travel log from
Asia and Africa. Her current work tends towards impressionism, echoing the colours
and moods of the landscape that surrounds her. Since returning to Ireland in
January 2001, she has been living in County Kerry, continuing her work.
